Much Ado About Partials
A failed chat embed, a rolled-back deploy, and some thoughts on solar Meshtastic hardware.

Today I figured I'd try to embed a simple chat app, LXMF Quick Chat, as a partial on this site. No luck, and in fact it made everything hang so much that the site was inaccessible for an hour or so. Oops.

In the end I had to remove all local files manually and redeploy a rolled-back version of the site, but it is what it is. I'm just a hack at this, after all, not even with a technical background :D

Out in the real world everything is springlike and sunny, and my Meshtastic solar node is easily at 100%. When it was all snowy and dark in December it lost around 1% power per day on average, which likely means that it will make it through a dark Danish winter with no issue.

I'd like to try and convert it to running RNode but it's not on the list of officially supported devices: https://github.com/markqvist/RNode_Firmware?tab=readme-ov-file#supported-boards--devices

It's a SenseCAP Solar Node P1 Pro. It uses the XIAO nRF52840 Plus main controller, the Wio-SX1262 LoRa module, and the XIAO L76K GPS module. The Wio-SX1262 is supported by RNode, but not the nRF52840 Plus main controller, and I am woefully ignorant about this sort of thing and probably too much of a chicken to try it blind. Don't want to brick it, after all.

If someone can get it to work, though, oh man. I've gotten 5-6 km range on it pretty easily, and on some days 11 km. It would be perfect for an off-grid RNode mesh.
